It was apparent that Scottish needs were similar to those in England / Wales and agreement was reached for the Palm1 project and IDENT1to run in tandem with each other. In November 2004, the Scottish Executive gave approval for Scotland to remain a permanent part of IDENT1 and later that month, Northrop Grumman was selected as preferred supplier of the national fingerprint system.
